History

“At the age of 16 i got my first taste of two wheel racing when i took part in a motocross race. It took a few years before i made the big step up to track racing.”

“Woolsey Coulter, a former British 250cc champion was to influence me and in 1999 he encouraged me to take on the RS250 Aprilia Challenge in England. My first race was at Cadwell Park – i qualified 17th but in the race i had a DNF- great start eh! In the championship i finished 24th that year.”

“In April 2000, i won my first race at Aghadowey, NI – So the trips to England paid off! I continued with the 250 challenge in the mainland finishing 11th overall in the championship.”

“2001 i had a RSV1000 Aprilia for the British MILLE championship and again the RS250 machine. I lifted the MILLE title and ended up 5th in the MRO RS250 championship. I added this to the Irish RS250 championship. To top it all off it was great to win the high-prized champion of champions crown at Kirkistown beating the Superbikes to the line.”

“2002 gave me 6th place in the MRO Superstock championship riding a Suzuki and also lifted the MILLE championship for the second year in a row.”

“2003 unfortunately was a year plagued by bad luck and injuries, however there were some good results towards the end of the season.”

“2005 i returned to the British Superstock after an injury early on spoilt my 2004 debut year in the class. In ’05 i ended up 9th in the championship with a best result of 4th at Mallory Park.”

“2006 in Superstock again i finished *th in the title race and my best results were 2nd at Knockhill and 3rd at Donington Park with a new lap record. I also had a run out in the British Superbike Cup at Silverstone and won both races.”

“2007 I just took part in the end of season races in the Superstock 1000 and i had my first win in the class at Croft. Also i had the fastest lap round Croft and ended up 12th in the championship.”

“2008 was to bring me another race win in the Superstock 1000 at Donington Park. I followed this up with a 3rd at Brands Hatch, a 4th at Thruxton and ended up 7th in the championship table.”

“2009 in the Superstock 1000 class i had a 3rd at Oulton Park, a 4th at Silverstone and 8th overall in the championship. At the end season Sunflower International races at home i had a win in the 1st 600 race, a 2nd in race 2 and a 2nd in the Sunflower feature race – beating a lot of British Superbike regulars. In the 2 Irish Superbike races i finished in 3rd – this left me with podium finished in all my races.”

“2010 due to lack of funds we decided the best move was to stay in Ireland and race for the year which turned out to be very successful…”

  • Sunflower international races 2010: In the Sunflower feature race i finished 3rd behind M. Laverty and I. Lowry and in front of Buildbase rider J. Laverty and Relentless Suzuki Rider A. Seeley. The highlight of the day was winning the 2 600cc races and finishing in front of the 2 Parkalgar Honda riders – British Supersport champion Sam Lowes and James Ellison as well as Ben Wilson and Billy McConnell. I received the ‘Man Of The Meeting’ award.
